Classic Car Show At LI Cheeseburger

Long Island Cheeseburger and DJ Ken “who loves ya’ baby” Kojak along with the Long Island Thunderbird Club present a Classic Car Show at 11:00 AM on June 14th, 2009 (rain date: June 28th).

Bring the whole family!

There will be trivia contests and prizes as well as great food and some classic automobiles. Music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s will be provided by DJ Ken.

Parker Couple Takes Road Trip In 1956 T-Bird

Johnny himself always wanted to wander down Route 66. The kids in the show had a convertible Corvette, and 17 years ago he began restoring a convertible 1956 Thunderbird.

“I was glad he had a project,” Judy said.

The Thunderbird is now fully restored except for a few new touches such as a satellite radio and portable GPS, Johnny said.

While the Bunches made their way along Route 66, tourists couldn’t stop taking pictures of their car, they said.

Once again, it’s time for our annual Thunderbird and Ford Show in association with the Thunderbird Owners of New York.

The show will be Sunday, July 19th at Syosset Ford on Jericho Turnpike in Syosset. Rain date is July 26th. To register your vehicle, print out and return the back page of the Show Flyer(PDF)

Thunderbird #1 will be sold at No Reserve during the 38th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event in Scottsdale, Ariz., Jan. 11-18, 2009. The Raven Black 1955 T-Bird was produced by Ford Motor Company on Sept. 9, 1954, and represents the birth of Ford’s sports car program.

Penned by Ford designer Frank Hershey, the original Thunderbird was a hit among sports car fans across America and became an instant competitor for the Chevrolet Corvette. This T-Bird is equipped with a 292 Y-block engine, Fordomatic (automatic) transmission, power steering, power windows and power seats.
